the fringe dress: a diy tutorial

April 6, 2018

This week has been a wild ride full of medial procedures and doctors appointments and waiting and waiting and more waiting for phone calls from said doctors. (more on all of that later) But I figured what better time then now to keep busy and sew myself a new dress. And FINALLY I decided to try … More the fringe dress: a diy tutorial

a DIY onesie + an important message

October 10, 2017

As much as it hurts me to bring it up, how many of you remember the infamous “locker room talk” between Billy Bush and Donald Trump? Despite which political party you affiliate with, I think this is something we need to talk about.

a DIY jumpsuit + an old oak tree

May 31, 2017

My “momi-form” these days has been the same two pairs of denim cut off shorts and a flowy tee shirt or tank top. Reason being is because it’s hot, I’ve got a 30 pound toddler on my hip at all times, and frankly because I just don’t care to be wearing anything else. Unless it’s … More a DIY jumpsuit + an old oak tree

a DIY maxi dress + a introducing Highlands Wrap Dress

April 11, 2017

Every so often I see these gorgeous, flowy, maxi dresses online that make all my Hawaii beach dreams come true. And then I remember that I quit my job to be a stay at home mom and therefore these $200 designer maxi dresses will just have to live in my Pinterest boards forever.  But luckily … More a DIY maxi dress + a introducing Highlands Wrap Dress

A DIY bathroom renovation

March 4, 2017

It only took us 7 months to remodel a bathroom. And by “us” I mean Will. My Sasquatch husband worked so hard to give me the bathroom of my dreams, working weekends and nights after work, all while I stood around scratching my head, micro-managing, and changing my mind a hundred times. And while many … More A DIY bathroom renovation

a DIY quilt for the non-quilter

January 16, 2017

When I started learning how to sew almost 5 years ago, I remember gazing at photos of beautiful quilts that resembled pieces of art. And I thought, “I’ll make those someday! You just wait and see.”

this is everything my heart ever wanted all wrapped up in one cheesy, bad-lighting, out of focus, hospital room photo. so happy to be back home and that the band is back together again... plus our newest little member who has both a great set of vocals and is easy on the eyes too. 💙💙💙
me and Bear’s first photo together. i was shaking so much in the operating room that i didn’t get to hold him until this moment. and although it sounds crazy and probably makes absolutely no sense, i really had no idea how much i needed him here until he finally was. ✨
this afternoon we welcomed another sweet valentine’s day baby boy into the world ✨ Bear Ellis Brown ✨ 8lbs 13 oz, 20 3/4 inches. we’ve been dreaming and wishing and praying and hoping and loving on him for so long. it sure feels wonderful that he is finally here!
we were told that the odds were not in our favor, that my eggs were crap, to not get our hopes to high, and that having a second baby might be a pipe dream. but tomorrow is the day that we finally get to meet him. i can’t wait to finally see his face and also once again prove that the odds were wrong. which, of course, has always been one of my favorite things to do 😉. we’ll see you tomorrow, our little pipe dream come true. 💙🐻
our last weekend, just the three of us, before we add another little cub to our wolfpack. 💙💙💙 “...then there will be four of us wolves. running around the desert together. in Las Vegas. looking for strippers and cocaine.” 😂
my sweet valentine’s day baby. almost three years old and he will soon be learning the hard lesson of having to share all his things with someone else for the rest of his childhood. and on top of that, it may just so happen that he will have to share his birthday with his brother too! the universe is a funny thing. i spent almost 30 years of my life absolutely dreading valentines day. and now as fate would have it, it’s become the most wild, magical, wonderful holiday of them all. 💕 #myvalentines
