the end of a decade

October 10, 2019

I read recently that we only have three months left in this decade. Three more months! That’s it! I was in the check-out line at Trader Joe’s when I read that and immediately I began to panic.  The end of a decade seems big! I didn’t go to all the places! I haven’t seen all … More the end of a decade

a saturday at cypress gardens

April 21, 2019

I have lived in Charleston for nearly 15 years now, but lately I can’t seem to find a place around here that has truly taken my breath away. Don’t get me wrong, I think Charleston is gorgeous. We have beautiful gardens, pretty houses, and warm sandy beaches. But it wasn’t until we traveled 45 minutes … More a saturday at cypress gardens

the wisteria of meeting street

April 1, 2019

Much like the super blooms of California or the cherry blossoms in DC, tourists, Instagrammers, and bloggers all flock to Meeting Street in downtown Charleston for two weeks in March to catch a glimpse of the wisteria. Okay maybe not to the same extent as DC’s cherry blossoms, but as Charleston’s tourism continues to grow, … More the wisteria of meeting street

eight days in Banff Canada

October 1, 2018

Well hello! Long time, no blog. October 1st seemed like a good time to finally get my act together and share our trip from last June. 😬 It’s taken me so long to gather my thoughts, upload all of our photos and videos, and… well… get over a very long first trimester full of morning … More eight days in Banff Canada

a saturday at botany bay

March 4, 2018

It was unexplainably hot in Charleston last weekend, but rather than heading out to our usual spots, we decided to make the day of it and drive an hour south to Edisto Island to check out Botany Bay. I still can’t believe we waited this long to come here. If you haven’t made the trip … More a saturday at botany bay

The best lobster rolls in Maine

June 30, 2017

Luckily for me, I have husband who likes to indulge me and in June he decided to take the family on a trip to Maine. Wildflowers for as far as you can see, hiking for miles up cliffs, boat tours to see puffins and seals, and lobster rolls for days and days. Check out my … More The best lobster rolls in Maine

our mountain baby takes on Colorado

November 10, 2016

After surviving the most recent hurricane season and witnessing my husband obsessing over a very long and tumultuous election season that ended in one very stressful evening of him yelling at Wolf Biltzer on the television, I can at least give a sigh of relief that its over.  The best part of our most recent family vacation was … More our mountain baby takes on Colorado

if i knew then what i know now, i’d still do it all over again. i’d still cry an ocean’s worth of tears waiting to find you. i’d still toss thousands of dollars into a barrel and watch it drift away with the tide. i now know it all happened right when it was supposed to, exactly how it happened, to lead you here to me. just as you are. 💙💙
it takes me approximately 3 hours and 23 minutes to get myself and two children out the door in the morning. 0 percent of us are morning people and 100 percent of my children still can’t pull a shirt over their heads to save their lives. some days i lose it. and most days i stumble to our location significantly late and overly apologetic. and then there are days like these. when Liam doesn’t have school, we have nothing on our calendars, and we spend the morning in sweat pants doing nothing and everything all at once. there are so many personal and professional goals i have set for myself and i worry that i don’t have the hustle that i see so many amazing other women and working moms out there have. i do hope to get there one day. but for now, hopefully i am exactly where i am supposed to be. ☺️
this is your friendly reminder that if you’re still eating thanksgiving leftovers tonight, just stop. it’s time. put down the fork and no one gets hurt.🦃
lately i’ve been trying hard to get us all out of the house for a walk, to turn that witching hour into a magic golden hour instead. giving myself some grace and reminding myself that i’m not a bad mom. because every time 5pm rolls around and my children start to behave like feral cats, i find comfort knowing that hopefully your children are at home doing the same exact thing. 🤪 #honestmotherhood
you may think your baby wants all the toys, books, and gadgets you can find. but one thing i have learned in these past four years of motherhood is that all a baby really wants is to be close to you. period. that’s it. and the happiest babies are the ones that are in your arms. this i am absolutely certain of. 💙 my top three carriers are @sollybaby @wildbird and @ergobaby. add these to your holiday wish list or baby registry and you will not be disappointed. . . . #babymusthaves #closeenoughtokiss #carrythem #babywearinglove #mywildbird #wrapnap #documentyourdays #raisingbabies #choosejoy #tinyreasons #mamasbetweennaps #thesincerestoryteller #ivfbaby #takeheartmydear #thisismotherhood
i am thankful today and everyday that in a world full of uncertainties, every passing year is a new chance to turn it all around. sending love and light to all of you this thanksgiving weekend. and if this thanksgiving left you staring at the kids table with tears in your eyes and a broken heart, i hope and pray that a rainbow is on its way, and it’s just for you. ❤️
